I need to catch up on my taaags but I want to try out this Aion game. And I need to fix Ingus' personality section because darn you FFIII kids and your blandness. DARN YOU ALL. Also, darn me and my lack of creativity. Ffffff Nicole is coming into town today, I do hope she doesn't show up until the afternoon 'cause I don't want to have to pretend to be busy all day. At least I can slack if it's just William.

Being as there are NO CUSTOMERS ever lately. :|

Worst adventure ever

Alright, so I'm sure you're all wondering just what the hell has been going on for the past couple of weeks. Mostly nothing, at least on my end. What happened on the other hand is a tale of much annoyance and inefficiency.

So, we've been planning on renting a house for about a year now. Rick's (one of my roommates) Dad wanted to buy a house in the Reno area and offered to rent it to us. We figured hey, awesome. So much house hunting and attempts at purchase ensued. Mostly foreclosed homes, and it took bloody forever to even get one because they kept getting bought from underneath us even when we were offering asking price for them. Banks don't like cash because they can't demand interest. Anyway, after that took forever we finally got one, it was paid for by July 16th, the title was supposed to be handed over by the 23rd as per the contract. Our leases for the apartment we'd been in expired on the 28th.

The bank, of course, finds it difficult to honor contracts so they had to file for an extension. To August 6th. That left us homeless for quite a while. We ended up having to stay in a shitty Motel 6 for two weeks. It smelled funny, the maids were insane and didn't speak English at all, and we were in the worst part of town possible. On the bright side I did find amusing. Yes, that is an ashtray with a no smoking sticker stuck to the bottom.

Helpful, in my opinion.

Anyway, the bank decided to wait until the very last day of their extension possible to get the title signed and sent over. The interesting thing is they decided to sell a house that they technically didn't own, so much searching had apparently had to ensue before the title for the house was found.

Then of course comes the house itself. It's a foreclosed home, and the gentleman who lost the house apparently decided that if he couldn't have it then no one could have it in decent shape. He took a sledge hammer to the walls, emptied the water heater into the floor vents, and filled the sink and toilets full of rocks and glass and gravel. Good times. It's a mess, the carpets are terrifying, but I guess it's ours? And now finally I have internet so I can hate my days a little less.

On the bright side I read a lot while unable to do anything in that hotel room. Days off sucked.

So, still homeless, Motel 6 sucks and I have no internet. I managed to steal a bit of internet so I could close down my WoW account. Hopefully the house goes through soon because I think I may destroy something. Too many books read, too many. I will tell you about them later.

Good lord it gets boring when I'm off in the morning. Night time seems to be when everyone's awake and willing to do stuff, instead I sit here and stare at nothing all day. Then I work for the most fun hours of the evening. Sucky stupid shift changes. I want my mornings back! Who stole my morning shifts? ):

The first post on my original LiveJournal described how I was a sheep, perhaps in a way this change is similar as so many of us are doing it at once.

However, there comes a time in one's life when it's time to cast away the excess, the old and decayed. That which burdens unnecessarily and infects, an illness, a cancer in a way. My old life could be described as cancerous at times, and while it is always wise to learn from your past mistakes and the mistakes of others it is equally important to remember that sometimes shit happens. Things will happen that you can't do anything about, you can't change it, so why dwell on it?

That's what this is for. To move forward with great force, cast off those old chains that only create rancor, harbor regret.

I would like to live with as few regrets as possible, so far I think I'm doing fairly well in that department.

Oh, there will always be regret, but I can choose to embrace it as a learning experience or let it eat me alive.

I choose forward.
